Indication
Generic clomid clomiphene is used to treat female infertility and for certain conditions as determined by your doctor. It is an ovulatory stimulant. It performs producing more hormones that cause your ovaries to release 1 or more eggs.
Dosage and Administration
The dosage of Generic Clomid for each patient will be different. Always follow your physician's instructions and/or the directions on the prescription drug label.
A 50 mg of dosage is usually recommended for generic clomid clomiphene. It has to be taken once daily. The dosage will differ in case you have kidney problems or you are taking a diuretic. The dose for adults over the age of 65 will also be different.
So patient should consult doctor to know the dosage amount, the time between doses, and the duration the drug. Always they should follow the instructions given to you by your physician.
This drug is required to take by mouth exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It should not be taken more often or for a longer time than prescribed by your doctor. It should not be used more than 6 cycles.
Side Effects
Like other medicines, Generic Clomid can give rise to a number of side effects. But the side effects caused by this drug are most probable to be minor and short-term. But, some of them may be serious.
Several serious Generic Clomid side effects are nausea and vomiting, severe abdominal pain, pelvic pain or bloating, sudden shortness of breath and changes in vision. Tell your doctor immediately if you develop any visual side effects.
Besides the above list, other side effects may occur. Consult with your doctor and follow his directions completely when you are taking this therapy.
Precautions
Patients should record their body temperature, perform ovulation tests, and properly time sexual intercourse for best results.
Patients should undergo pelvic examination before clomid treatment and before each subsequent course.
It is not recognized whether CLOMID is excreted in human milk. Because many drugs are excreted in human milk, caution should be exercised when using it in a nursing woman. In some patients, it may decrease lactation.
Extended use of clomiphene citrate tablets USP may cause a borderline or invasive ovarian tumor.
Patients should exercise caution when driving, operating machinery, or performing other risky activities as it may cause blurred vision or other visual side effects during or soon after treatment.
Contraindication
This medicine is contraindicated who have allergic to any ingredient in Clomiphene, abnormal vaginal bleeding, liver problems, uncontrolled thyroid or adrenal gland problems, or a brain lesion (eg, pituitary gland tumor). This drug can not be used in case you have ovarian cysts (small growths on the ovaries) or enlargement not due to polycystic ovarian syndrome. This drug should also be avoided if you have or have ever had blockage of blood vessels (blood clots) in the legs, lungs, or other parts of the body.
